25 Collocations for Academic English
This new video outlines the 25 most common collocations in academic English (#1 play a role), plus a few bonus collocations
and examples of each one in use. The collocations are taken from the ACL (see next). As always, there is a
worksheet for use with the video.

The ACL (Academic Collocation List) by frequency
If you are familiar with the ACL, you will know it does not contain frequency information... until now! I've spent some time using the BAWE and BNC corpora
to add frequency values for each collocation in the list, so that students can focus on studying the most frequent ones first.
